Been away for a while because i didn't really need to do the Diary but now i am back and back and honestly you didn't rally miss much. Yesterday(Thursday 12/2/15) I was actually late for the first time ever because i went to the bus stop and forgot my bus pass so i was an hour late, It wasn't that bad though because my first class was for 3 hours and we were just handing in our network assessment which is now done. Then i was in Website development where i was creating my website for the assessment and i decided to make mine on Pokemon and it is coming along VERY well.

Today we had customizing software for 3 hours and we were doing our new assessment where we have to connect the input/output devices such as Mouse, Keyboard, Monitor, Printer and Webcam this wasn't very hard as we had done most of it before and  it was basic as we just plug it in then insert the disk and install the drivers and create some evidence that they worked and that is pretty much everything. Goodbye! :D

Well yesterday (Thursday) was our first class in Networking which was pretty good but it's a 3 hour class which kind of sucks but in the end i enjoyed it and the lecturer was nice
Then we had website development where we are creating another website for an assessment and im going to do mine on Pokemon so i like it.

Today we had Customising Software with isobel and we were doing things on command prompt which was really fun and we had a fun snowball fight at lunch which was funny but painful aswell.

Today was the first day in the new block because yesterday was a SNOW DAY!!!!!!!!!! so we weren't as college and today we had Isobel taught us some of the many Command Lines on "Command Prompt" such as

DIR - Shows you everything in the current directory
CD - Change Directory
MD - Make Directory
COPY - Copies a file from one directory to another e.g. copy letter.docx letter2.docx

And then we finished our assessment 3 for Isobel and we handed them in

Tuesday

On we started a new assessment for Isobel which is all about posting on our blog sections about impacts of IT on individuals etc such as kids now a days have I-pads at 8 years old instead of going outside to have fun. Then for working with others we didn't have Steve James because he had lost his voice so we didn't actually get anything done sadly.

Today

I carried on with my assessment for Isobel trying to get the distinction and i got the very first assessment back (Earl's Ices) and did a formative assessment in Kerries class

When something great comes along such as IT and the internet there are always bad things which follow it such as people online who create viruses and start online cyber bullying etc. Unfortunately there are no official ways to stop people doing these things as the internet is an open place free for anyone to do as they wish and of course some companies have created software to protect you from these but they also cost money.  But really it is the users responsibility to tread carefully on the internet and only visit websites they trust or if someone makes a blog make it so only certain people can read it if you don’t want lots of people seeing it.

People without internet greatly lack the mount of things they can do in their everyday life such as they can’t communicate with others as easily, they can’t keep up-to-date with news also they can’t do things such as online banking/shopping meaning it’s harder for them to get things done efficiently also they are unable to apply for a lot of jobs which involve computers from my personal experience when I don’t have internet I get very board and feel I am missing out on a lot because I can’t see what people are saying on social media. So it’s fair to say the Internet is a big part in my life.

On Tuesday i was told by Duncan that i couldn't re change my assessment because i accidentally posted the wrong thing on my blog but he said changing it would be wrong so i couldn't get the Distinction or Merit and i barely got a pass so i was really pissed off and my views on Duncan aren't very high. However i did get my results for the other assessment 7.4 and i  got the pas and merit so this cheered me up a bit. The highlight of the day was finding £20 outside fresco so my and Rory Hunter split it and we're well chuffed.

Today wasn't anything special i did some work on the new assessment we got from Isobel and i feel like i did some good work so i don't think this assessment is too hard and then we had Website Development which we were working on another website except this was an assessment and the website was about another country holiday location.
